Tempeh steak with Asian sauce

Ingredients

  1. 1 package (220 g) Tempehine fresh plain tempeh
  2. 60 mL (¼ cup) toasted sesame oil
  3. 30 mL (2 tbsp.) soy sauce
  4. 15 mL (1 tbsp.) rice vinegar
  5. 15 mL (1 tbsp.) fresh ginger, minced
  6. 1 Thai pepper, chopped
  7. 1 lime, juice and zest

Directions

  1. Preheat the barbecue on medium-high. Clean and oil the grill.
  2. Combine all ingredients in a bowl except for the tempeh. Set aside.
  3. Cut the tempeh block in half lengthwise and again in half crosswise to get 4 even tempeh slices.
  4. Brush the tempeh slices with half the Asian sauce.
  5. Grill for 2 minutes on each side.
  6. Serve with the Asian sauce.
