Turkey with Maple-glazed Vegetables

Ingredients

  1. 1 Flamingo's “Freezer-to-oven” Gourmet Turkey

Roasted vegetables

  1. 1 bell pepper, diced
  2. ½ cauliflower, cut into florets
  3. 1 sweet potato, cubes
  4. 8 Nantes colored carrots, peeled and sliced
  5. 4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  6. 1 large yellow onion, diced
  7. 25 ml (1/8 cup) olive oil
  8. 25 ml (1/8 cup) meltef butter
  9. 50 ml (1/4 cup) maple syrup
  10. 5 ml (1 tsp.) pepper
  11. 15 ml (1 tbsp.) dried basil

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Remove the turkey from the bag and place it in a covered or foil-lined roasting pan.
  2. For a 3 to 5 kg turkey, cook for 4 to 5 hours. For a 5 to 7 kg turkey, cook between 5.5 and 6.5 hours. The turkey is done when a thermometer inserted into the thigh, without touching the bone, reads 80°C (176°F). Let stand 15 minutes before serving.
  3. In a large bowl, combine all the cut vegetables, oil, butter, maple syrup, pepper and basil.
  4. Place everything on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
