Since 2014, the Food Fight program, powered by the Fonds Éco IGA, has been inspiring and equipping people to reduce their food waste through free conferences!
In addition to the conferences, Food Fight now offers a wide range of tools to support you daily with meal planning, food storage, and even empty-fridge recipe ideas.
Between leftover meals, forgotten fruits in the fridge, lack of kitchen inspiration, and the different storage methods depending on the produce, it can be hard to know where to start when trying to reduce food waste at home.
And yet, one small anti-waste action at a time can make all the difference! Month after month, season after season, Food Fight offers simple tools, tips, and advice to help you change your habits and reduce food waste. Follow us to stay up to date!
Impulsive, cautious, proactive, or determined? Take the quiz to find out what type of food waster you are and get access to tools tailored to your profile. Then, choose a challenge to take on from the five monthly themed challenges offered, and start taking simple, concrete anti-waste actions. Plus, each participation gives you a chance to win one of five reusable anti-waste kits!
Our different workshops offer you tips and tools to better plan and buy your groceries, to properly store your food, and to give you inspiration in the kitchen.
There’s nothing like sharing your kitchen discoveries. Take action by joining the Facebook community to learn and exchange anti-waste tips with thousands of other motivated people.
Did you know that a great way to keep fresh herbs longer is to place their stems in water, ideally in the fridge covered with a bag? This helps keep the stems alive longer, and the bag protects them from the cold air in the fridge while maintaining humidity around the leaves by creating a greenhouse effect.
In Canada, 63% of the food we throw away could have been eaten.
and yes, your compost counts as a source of waste!
